Pride and Prejudice Chat

Privacy Policy

How the app and this website handle information.

Effective July 29, 2026

Quest Portal, Inc. (“Quest Portal,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides the Pride and Prejudice Chat app and website (together, the “Service”). This policy applies only to Pride and Prejudice Chat. The Quest Portal virtual tabletop is a separate offering with different models, terms, and privacy practices.

The short version

Pride and Prejudice Chat uses local language models. The app can use Apple Foundation Models through Apple Intelligence and custom models trained or fine-tuned for the app. Model generation runs on your device. We do not use cloud language models to generate chats, and the shipping app does not send your prompts, conversations, memories, or generated replies to Quest Portal for model inference.

The app still uses the internet for limited non-inference functions, including model and voice downloads, webpage analysis you request, optional StoreKit donations, and web support and legal pages. This website uses Plausible for aggregate analytics and Kit for the waitlist.

Information stored on your device

The app may store the following in its local app container:

This information remains on your device unless you choose a feature that contacts another service or export or share it yourself. Device backups and operating-system services are controlled by your device and Apple settings.

Local model and voice downloads

When the app starts, it checks for compatible custom model bundles. It downloads a required model if one is not installed and may download updated models from time to time. Custom language-model assets are currently delivered from Quest Portal’s designated hosting on Google Cloud Storage. Optional voice features may download local voice assets from Hugging Face.

These requests do not need to include your conversations or prompts. Hosting providers may process ordinary technical request information such as your IP address, request time, requested file, and network or device protocol information to deliver and secure the downloads. Apple may separately manage Apple Intelligence, Foundation Models, or speech assets under Apple’s terms and privacy practices.

Webpage analysis you request

If you ask the app to analyze a URL, your device contacts that website directly to retrieve content or metadata. The website and its providers may receive ordinary request information, including your IP address and the requested URL. Retrieved page information is processed by the app’s on-device model and may be stored in your local conversation. Quest Portal does not proxy the page through a cloud language model.

Optional donations

Optional donations are processed by Apple through StoreKit and do not unlock features. Apple processes payment and account information under its terms and privacy practices. Quest Portal receives transaction information Apple makes available to developers for operating and supporting in-app purchases; the app does not receive your full payment-card details.

Camera, microphone, speech, and notifications

If you choose a profile photo, the app stores the selected or captured image locally. If you enable voice features, the app uses microphone input to create chat text and local voice assets for playback. It does not send microphone audio to a Quest Portal cloud model. Character follow-up notifications are scheduled on your device; Quest Portal does not use a push-notification server for them.

App analytics, advertising, and diagnostics

The app does not include third-party advertising or analytics SDKs. Quest Portal does not use the app to track you across other companies’ apps or websites and does not sell your chat content or profile information. Development builds can create local diagnostic files that may contain prompts and generated output. They are not uploaded automatically and must be deliberately exported before they are shared.

Website analytics

This website uses Plausible Analytics to measure aggregate usage such as pages, referrers, devices, approximate location, link clicks, downloads, and form submissions. Plausible does not use cookies or persistent identifiers and does not store raw IP addresses. We use these measurements to understand and improve the website, not to build advertising profiles.

Waitlist and support communications

If you join the waitlist, we send your email address and signup source to Kit (formerly ConvertKit) so we can send the launch message you requested. Kit processes that information under its own privacy terms and may use a cookie to recognize a returning form subscriber. You can unsubscribe using the link in an email or ask us to delete your waitlist record.

If you contact support, we receive the information you choose to send. Support messages may be retained as needed to respond, keep business records, prevent abuse, or comply with law. Please do not send conversation exports or diagnostics unless they are needed for your request and you are comfortable sharing them.

Retention, deletion, and security

Local conversations, memories, profile information, settings, and downloaded assets remain on your device until you delete them through app or device controls, reset the relevant feature, or uninstall the app. Some operating-system backups may retain older app data under your Apple backup settings.

We design the app so model inference and conversation storage remain on the device. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and local security also depends on your device, passcode, backups, and operating-system settings.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy when the Service, its providers, or legal requirements change. We will update the effective date and provide additional notice when appropriate.
