The characters answer right on your device. Your words and their replies are not sent to Quest Portal for processing, so each conversation stays between you and your iPhone.

The app downloads required custom models to your device when it starts and may update them from time to time. Once required models are installed, ordinary chat can run locally. Internet access is still used for model and voice downloads, user-requested webpage analysis, optional StoreKit donations, and web support and legal pages.

The current launch window is August 2026, iOS first. There is no App Store download yet; the current action is to join the iOS launch waitlist.

Is Pride and Prejudice Chat an official BBC or BritBox app?

No. Pride and Prejudice Chat is an independent Quest Portal, Inc. product inspired by Jane Austen's public-domain novel. It is not affiliated with BBC, BritBox, Bad Wolf, Janice Hadlow, or The Other Bennet Sister.

How do the characters answer?

Every reply is created right on your device. Your conversations are not sent to Quest Portal for processing.

Are chats private?

Model generation runs on your device. The app does not send prompts, conversations, memories, or generated replies to Quest Portal for cloud-model inference. Conversations and app data are stored locally unless you choose to export or share them.

Does it work offline?

Once required models are installed, ordinary chat can run locally. Internet access is still required for model and voice downloads and updates, user-requested webpage analysis, StoreKit donations, and web pages.

Is there a subscription?

No. The launch characters are planned to be free, with no subscription.

Are there ads in the app?

No. The app has no third-party ads or tracking.
